A Little About The Brain Injury Therapist
Natalie Mackenzie
BSc, MSc, CPCRT, CALC
Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapist
Hello! I'm a mum of two gorgeous girls, live in the South East of England but hail from the North West. I ended up in brain injury a little bit by accident straight out of University, and I've never left. My dad was unfortunately killed as a result of an instant traumatic brain injury when I was 6 years old, so I guess you could say that my calling into neuro wasn't really an accident.
I have worked in the field of Neuro Rehabilitation for over 24 years. I am an expert in brain injury fatigue and published The Fatigue Management Journal, which has helped hundreds of people struggling with brain injury fatigue.
I am the founder and Director of BIS Services, a specialist Cognitive Rehabilitation service for individuals who have sustained a brain injury in the UK, and leaders in the field.
I have a BSc in Psychology and a MSc in Cognitive Neuropsychology and number of other certifications in psychological therapies.
As a Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapist and Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer, I have worked with thousands of families and clients, supporting them on the complex journey of brain injury.
No cookie cutter approach, no one size fits all. Your brain is as unique as your fingerprint, and your recovery is just as individual.
My desire to improve advocacy and awareness led me to become a sit on the steering committee for Kent Acquired Brain Injury group. In 2018 I was honoured to became a Trustee for Headway SELNWK. In 2025 i was honoured to take on the role as Chair of the International Society for Cognitive Rehabilitation.
I am also a qualified Hypnotherapist and the only Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer in the UK.
I sit on the editorial board of the Neuro Rehab Times and have been featured in numerous press and news outlets including The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Times, I Paper, BBC radio and numerous other publications as a brain injury expert.
I have won a number of business awards and in 2024 I won Neuro Rehab Leader of the year amongst a stellar line up of experienced and world renowned brain injury professionals.
I take immense pride in changing peoples lives and want to achieve the same outcome for you.

Trying to Decide?
This is for you if...
- You are living with the effects of brain injury. It doesn't matter how long ago you sustained your injury.
- Are feeling like you are missing out on life due to your brain injury.
- Are willing to try new things
- You need expert brain injury support but cannot afford one to one programs or courses.
- You are looking for a supportive community who understand living with brain injury.

This is not for you if...
- You are not able to access a computer or phone

- Are not willing to be part of a community. You might not feel ready right now but you will have lifetime access to the membership to come back to when you are ready.
- If you have been deemed to lack financial capacity please discuss this with your deputy. If you are under the treatment of an MDT please contact me to discuss if this is suitable for you.
- If you need acute mental health support or crises response. The membership does not provide therapy, counselling or crises support.
Need a Reason to Join Me?
Here are 3 Great Reasons
Reason One
This is the only membership dedicated to all brain injury survivors.
The monthly membership costs less than 10 minutes of my time and is the most cost effective way of accessing my expertise and support.
Reason Two
You will be supported by me, Natalie, every step of the way. My extensive experience in improving fatigue will help you move on with your life and independence.
This is the ONLY expert led membership of it's kind. My contacts and connections ensure you will receive expert content not available anywhere else.
Reason Three
You will find a supportive community that I have brought together who truly understand what you are going through every day. This is priceless.
This is not however a place for acute mental health or crisis support, please speak to your mental health specialist if you are unsure.

WORRIED ABOUT THE COST?
Less than £1 a day
"I don't work — I can't justify spending money on myself." I hear this so often. But NeuroThrive is under £1 a day, and the annual works out cheaper still. That's less than a coffee, a takeaway, or the little things we buy. The difference is that this is the one you'll still feel the benefit of next month: expert brain-injury support for a fraction of the cost of one-to-one work. If money feels tight, this membership was built for exactly that.
